I noticed a few things about the pic of the goggles.
1. There is a CE on the head band in the right side of the pic. In my experience it means Consumer Electronics. But I have found something else that is interesting. Check out the link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_mark
2. There are words on the lens with the electrodes. Is there any way someone could zoom in and depixelize the pic so we can read it?
All I've got is PhotoShop and I don't know how to do fancy stuff like that.
As for the CE could be the goggles or something else and it could be added for a touch of reality.
As for the text, I doubt it says anything.
It kind of looks like the goggles Kurt Russel wore in The Thing, but that didn't have a digital read out.
For some weird reason, the first thing I thought of when you guys posted CE was the phrase, "Common Era" which designates a time period. I've been wondering when nowheremen actually takes place, so Ive had that on the brain.
It's pretty much confirmed that it's taking place at the current moment.
He was captured.... was it 2002? or 2006?
Something like that and he, as you can see from the vids, has not aged enough to be from the future.
I fairly certain this is in the here and now.
if only this was like the movies where we can zoom in on anything and type random crap on our keyboards and it'll be clear as day.
that would help ALOT
btw how would one see the text whilst wearing the goggles? if you put your hands infront of your face its hard to focus your eyes to see your hands. i guess the lenses on the goggles could just "de-magify" the screen thingie like what you'd see when you look in the wrong end of a telescope or binoculars...
While the design is "Futuristic". The monitor goggles concept has been around for 20 years and been in use by areonautic mechanics for 5+ years. (the areonautic mechanics have thiers connected to a wearable computer so they can access the Manuals on the fly as opposed to have to check the physical manual book, for they have it with them).
Also:
1. The Human eye can adjust from near to far viewing fairly quickly.
2. the viewing mechanism is designed so that to the eye it apears as though the screen is floating ahead of them (similiar to viewing a monitor at the normal viewing distance) so the eye never really changes its focal depth.
with practice a man can go about his day without the monitor being more distracting then an intense phone conversation.
