Second-last instalment of FDIA. Read, comment, and enjoy.
What could one expect in a place like this? Dean's team had learnt to control their emotions, fully, and they did not feel pain or remorse or guilt when they saw new recruits being changed, like them. They had no wish to leave this place anymore, and Karl was happy that they worked so well.
Unfortunately, Daniel, Danny, and David were found to be scheming to escaping this place and blowing up the place. Karl had his ways to deal with them, and the last they heard from them was a painful scream and silence. The deafening silence.
With the team of four left, Kline's team was disqualified from the invisible competition and the seven were treated in such a way that no one knew, not even Dean or Kline. Kline had succumbed to defeat and promised (or swore) never to be such a horrible, immoral person again. Karl brought Kline to Dean's team, forming one elite team, with two heads. Now that fearful execution was implemented, the remaining few knew exactly how to stay and survive in such a place, a cruel and frightful place.
One day, unclear of what time it was, Charles snuck out from rest time to hack into the Database Expansion Area, just to see the official frame of the place. That's right, he wanted to escape. He took careful, silent steps all the way to the Server. "I'm not going to lose my chance this time." Charles typed as fast as he could, and went right into the Database Expansion Area -- with a virtual hack guide -- named Maximus.
[Below is the conversation between Charles and Maximus in the hackpad]
ConvictC: Maximus. Calling Maximus.
Maximus: Charles... Yes, have you hacked into the Database Expansion Area yet?
ConvictC: No, Maximus. I need your help in getting past the first step.
Maximus: Tell me the chart-code.
ConvictC: Fultick/Gammonhei/Javrono/FgTHiL/DatabaseExpansionArea
Maximus: Ah, you need to cross three highly secured regions within the Database.
ConvictC: But Maximus, I don't have much time.
Maximus: That is why I will help you.
ConvictC: First step, Maximus.
Maximus: Go to the core of the Database -- first, you type in a random identity code into the Verification Form.
ConvictC: Done.
Maximus: All clear? Any further verification?
ConvictC: Wait, wait. They asked for the identity index.
Maximus: Type 0010284.
ConvictC: Okay. Verifying.
Maximus: Hurry, I assume you have only seventeen minutes left.
ConvictC: ... Done! Quick, next step.
Maximus: Note that you're not in the core yet. This step will take you smoothly to the core. Type in this chart-code; IcyMagnitude/SereneJo/FullerWaynation
ConvictC: Done. It's checking. And installing.
Maximus: ... Okay! Next step.
ConvictC: Speak.
Maximus: Fultick/Gammonhei/Javrono/FgTHiL/DatabaseExpansionArea...
A voice in the surroundings repeated the same words, frightening Charles.
And everything was now clear.
Allan is the mastermind behind the misleading of Charles. He had a cunning grin on his face. Karl, Dean, Kline, Chris and Daryl were staring at Charles with a pained expression. "Give up, Charles," Dean breathed. Charles let go of his device and pulled off his goggles. "My only way to survival, suddenly became my only way to death." Charles extended his arms, prompting Chris and Daryl to pull him away. Allan volunteered to help them, and while Charles was being pulled away, Allan whispered to him.
"Hm, another one dissolved." Allan chuckled inaudibly, making Charles agitated and ready to kill Allan. Chris and Daryl pulled him away forcefully.
Another voice rang from behind Allan. Allan turned around, and saw two Taser guns pointed at him.
"And you're next." Karl snapped his fingers, and Allan's view became darkness.
