"There is someone else here," the man whispered urgently, the doctor scribbled down a quick note about the subjects’ sudden change from calm and coherent, to a seemingly extreme paranoid delusion. “There is someone else here!" he repeated, his voice slightly more urgent. The small grey room contained only the doctor, the man and the chairs they sat in. "Who's here?" The doctor said, leaning towards the man. The mans eyes widened and he suddenly jumped away from the doctor, the chair he sat in toppled sending him sprawling backwards. The mans limbs waved frantically as he lay on his back on the floor. He was making a hissing sound, the doctor observed calmly from his seat. The mans hands were bony and twisted grotesquely; he was clawing wildly at the air, hissing all the while. The doctor wrote some more notes. The man rolled onto his stomach, he tried to prop himself up on his arms, almost like he was doing a push up, but his hands were still stiff and clawed, his arms also seemed rigid, the doctor observed. He attempted this over and over, his stiff arms sliding uselessly away from him each time. His hissing had stopped and he seemed completely focused on trying to get his arms and hands to support his body. The doctor got up and walked over to the man, he crouched down so he could get a better look at his face. When he got this close he realized the man was not completely silent. He was whispering - so quietly that it was barely audible. The doctor leaned closer still, trying to make out the mans words. They are watching us He couldn't hear what he was saying. The doctor stood up and went to the door, as far as he was concerned the experiment was over. He took one last glance back at the man struggling on the floor, as he did the man lay still on the floor on his stomach with his arms folded awkwardly beneath his chest. He turned his head towards the doctor and smiled. The smile was a leering grin that seemed to stretch impossibly wide and the doctor felt a chill run down his spine. He turned quickly and shut the door behind him. He paused for a second, the mans horrible face etched in his mind. He shuddered and went to fetch the nurse.
