The image file was actually slightly different -- two hotspots on
the alarm keypad directed users to a photo of
Timothy Leary -- an advocate of LSD research and testing.
Clicking that photo led to a strange video on Vimeo from user "Roger
Burns."
Comprised of old archive footage, it seemed to tell the story of
LSD experimentation on soldiers.
Embedded within that video were two clue words: flickr and
turnontuneindropout. The latter is a reference to Timothy Leary's
most famous quote.
This led users to the turnontuneindropout user account on flickr.
Within this account are three photos of a car abandoned in the
woods.

Within the one photo above, users were able to detect an e-mail
address printed on the hood of the car:
rogerburnstips@yahoo.com.
Sending an e-mail to this address generated an auto response:
http://www.nowheremen.net/py/index.html
Going to this address, users found an e-mail forward started about
the time of Roger's disappearance.

They also found a photo of Roger from his civilian life.

Furthermore, there was a zip file attached to the e-mail that users
could download. It was 0011001000110010.py.zip(The
file name is binary for 22).
Running the script contained within this zip file, users were given
one final URL: http://www.nowheremen.net/733t/haxxor.html
On this webpage, players found the timer. Upon expiration of that
timer, the first webisode of the series was released, "Derek."
